Historia marki Paged sięga 1931 roku, kiedy to na wniosek Naczelnej Dyrekcji Lasów Państwowych kierowanej przez Adama Loreta, Komitet Ekonomiczny Rady Ministrów powołał do życia Polską Agencją Eksportu Drewna (spółka z ograniczoną poręką) oraz podjął decyzję o jej udziale w budowie portu w Gdyni, a dokładnie jego części – portu drzewnego. Dzieje Pagedu to ciąg nieustannych zmian. Już w rok po powstaniu, w 1932r., nazwa agencji została zmieniona po raz pierwszy – na „Paged – Polska Agencja Eksportu Drewna spółka z ograniczoną poręką”.
